About
Chidinma Ezugwu is a dedicated Ph.D. researcher and scholar in Computational Mathematics & Statistics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is also a Predoctoral Scholar of the National Alliance for Doctoral Studies in the Mathematical Sciences (the “National Math Alliance”). Chidinma holds a Master of Science in Mathematics, specializing in Statistics and Operations Research from Southern Illinois University, and a Bachelor’s Degree, Summa Cum Laude, in Mathematics with a secondary discipline in Economics and a minor in Statistics from Castleton University. Throughout her academic journey, she has earned several prestigious honors, including the 2019 Academic Excellence Award in Mathematics and the 2021 Matthew Samsel Graduate Assistant Fellowship in Mathematics and Statistics. In 2024, she received the Tutor Spotlight Award by Guilford County Schools in recognition of her commitment to academic mentorship. She actively participates in professional organizations such as the Association for Women in Mathematics, the American Statistical Association, and the American Mathematical Society.
Chidinma’s passion lies in applying Mathematics, Statistics, and Operations Research to solve complex and dynamic problems, with a special interest in aerospace and flight systems. She played a leading role in developing SpartyWiz, an AI-powered student guidance tool that won second place and the Viewer’s Choice Award at the 2025 UNCG AI Innovation Challenge. Additionally, she volunteers with the NC A&T Aggie Rocketry Team, reflecting her enthusiasm for aerospace applications. Her approach to scholarship is grounded in her personal philosophy: “Mathematics is an expression of the beauty of God in all creation, all that exists, and the potential that lies therein.” Through her research, leadership, and community involvement, Chidinma continues to make significant contributions to both academia and the broader STEM community.
