I build methods that find the structure hidden in data and explain it, from how patterns cluster across a city to how the eye responds to spaceflight. Drawing on optimal transport, Markov chains, and optimization, I develop tools whose behavior can be proved, measured, and understood. My work turns data into clear understanding, and clear understanding into better decisions, on the ground and beyond.
